Sanford, ME

The Prescott Street apartment building was constructed for the Sanford Housing Authority to replace an aging structure with poor energy efficiency. When designer Lassel Architects performed a blower door test at the completion of the project to assess the building’s air sealing, a key indicator of a building’s energy efficiency, the initial test resulted in a reading of 0.17 ACHnat (air changes per hour), significantly better than the Maine State Housing Authority target of .20 ACHnat.
