Energy efficiency was the focus of a project completed for the State of Maine DOT (Department of Transportation). We installed specialized, insulated wall and roof panels called an Insulated Panel System (IPS). The building is also equipped with radiant slab heating in the concrete floors, which is much more efficient than forced hot air, especially in a space with high ceilings and large doors opening frequently.
With IPS, insulated panels provided substantial energy savings for the State of Maine at the steel maintenance garages by reducing their heating requirements.
