Bates Street Apartments

February 25, 2016
Sanford, Maine

This project was built for Community Housing Alternatives for Maine People (CHAMP), which is now part of York County Shelter Programs. Inspectors from the Maine State Housing Authority and Joy & Hamilton Architects, Inc. had a surprise when they did a final review of the Bates Street Apartments project. They found no punch list items at all because everything had been completed exactly as they wanted. The architect, David Joy, called this situation “unheard of, and a mighty testament to the quality of your work” on the five-unit family housing facility built to MSHA Standards.  As Joy noted, the work was “completed on time, within budget, with few change orders and with excellent workmanship.”
