One of two similar garages TPD built for the Maine DOT projects, energy efficiency was the focus of a project completed for the Maine Department of Transportation. We installed specialized, insulated wall and roof panels called Insulated Panel Systems (IPS). Radiant heat was installed in the concrete floor slab, which is much more efficient than forced hot air-especially in a building with a high ceiling where large garage doors are frequently opening and closing.
With IPS, insulated panels provided substantial energy savings for the State of Maine at the steel building maintenance garages by reducing their heating and air conditioning requirements.
